WHO WE ARE

According to the Population Census in 2010, there has been an increase in the number of marginalized persons in Kenya. The number of children lacking food and basic education is on the rise. As male mortality rates grow year over year, women and children are suffering.

Crime rates are highest in areas The Guardian Foundation services, where crime, prostitution, and poverty are driving a vicious cycle severing a child’s right to happiness. Deprived of education, training, and opportunities, these children have remained economically inactive.  The Guardian Foundation aims to address these problems. We want to give children a choice.

Our Mission

The Guardian Foundation exists to provide children with a quality education to empower and break the poverty cycle and help foster a life full of hope for every child.

Transparency & Accountability

We commit to you that 100% of every dollar will go directly to helping children and adults in Kenya.

Our Vision

We believe in solutions that last. We aren’t looking for a band-aid fix. We want to inspire a community and fuel sustainable motivation by focusing on essential building blocks, starting with education.

Not shying away from tough conversations or challenging social environments, we aim to spark change from the bottom-up.

Our Story

In 2014, Charles and Ann Nderitu established The Guardian Foundation. We partner with children and their communities to research, identify, and ultimately fix issues surrounding poverty. Built on Christian humanitarian values, it is our fundamental responsibility to do everything in our power to help children in need, of any faith.

“For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me” – Matthew 25:35

MEET OUR TEAM

CHARLES AND ANN NDERITU

Charles and Ann are Kenyan nationals with an unwavering commitment to the marginalized people living in the poorest parts of the country.  After witnessing the deterioration of living conditions in the slums of Kenya first hand, Ann and Charles made it their mission to help in any way they could. It was with that vision the Guardian Foundation was created. Their combined humanitarian efforts change the lives of Kenyan children and adults alike, in an ongoing pursuit of sharing hope, compassion, and God’s teachings.
